Does scanning work without internet?
Yes. The app reads QR codes and barcodes on your phone, and QR creation also works offline. Opening a website, completing a payment, sending an email, or using another online service may still need a connection.
Which QR codes and barcodes can I scan?
The app supports 27 formats and variants, including QR Code, Micro QR, rMQR, Aztec, Data Matrix, PDF417, MicroPDF417, MaxiCode, EAN and UPC formats, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, and GS1 DataBar. See the supported format families.
Can I scan a code from a photo?
Yes. Choose the gallery option on the scanning screen and select a photo containing a QR code or barcode. The selected image is processed on your phone.
What if a code is small, dark, or hard to read?
Try better lighting, hold the phone steady, and bring the entire code into view. The app supports small, dense, and inverted light-on-dark codes. You can use the flashlight in low light or switch between the front and back cameras. Damaged or blurred codes may not be readable.
Do I need to tap a scan button?
No. Point your camera at a supported code and the app detects it automatically. Review the result before following a link or taking another action.
What can I turn into a QR code?
Choose from 10 types: website, text, Wi-Fi, contact card, phone, SMS, email, location, payment link, and social profile. Enter the details, generate the code, and save or share it.
Can I customize a QR code’s frame?
Yes. Choose Banner, Bubble, Corners, or Badge frames in seven colors. Add “SCAN ME” or another call to action, such as “JOIN WIFI” or “FOLLOW ME.” The frame preview on this website is an illustration of the available styling.
Can I create a QR code for a social profile?
Yes. Social profile codes support 13 popular social and messaging platforms, each with its logo. Choose a platform in the app and add your profile details.
How are phone numbers checked?
Phone and related creation forms include a country picker and a length check for the selected country. This helps catch simple input mistakes; it does not verify that a number exists or belongs to a particular person.
How do I save or share a code?
After creating a code, use the app’s share action to send it as an image, or save it to your gallery. Check the finished image with a scanner before printing or distributing it.
Does a payment-link QR code process a payment?
No. It encodes a payment link. Your payment provider handles the destination, transaction, authentication, fees, and any refunds. Always check the destination and recipient before paying.
Where is my scan history stored?
Your scans and created codes are saved locally on your phone when history is enabled. You can search the list and mark useful items as favorites. The app does not upload your scan history for cloud syncing.
Can I turn off history?
Yes. Use the Save History setting in the app. Turning it off prevents new history entries; it does not by itself remove existing saved items.
Can I export or import my history?
Yes. CSV export and import are available in the app. Keep exported files somewhere safe: they may contain sensitive details such as links, contact information, or Wi-Fi credentials. A file you choose to share is handled by the destination you select.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account or sign-up requirement for scanning or creating codes. Your scan and creation activity stays on your device unless you choose to share or export it.
What are the privacy controls?
Go to Settings → Privacy & Data to manage optional usage statistics, crash reports, and notifications. These are separate from your code contents and local history. See the Privacy Policy for more information.
Why does the app ask for camera or photo access?
Camera access lets you scan codes. Photo selection lets you scan a code from an image or save a created code. You can manage permissions in your phone’s system settings. Denying a permission limits only the features that need it.
Are Light and Dark themes available?
Yes. Choose Light, Dark, or System in the app. System follows your phone’s appearance setting. The website also has its own light/dark switch in the navigation.
Can I change scan sounds and vibration?
Yes. Optional beep and vibration feedback can be changed in the app’s Settings.
How can I get the app or ask for help?
