1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how QR & Barcode Scanner: Create (the “app”) and this product website handle information. For privacy questions, contact the app team at support@appsbean.com.
The app’s core scanning and QR creation features run on your phone and do not require an account or an internet connection. Optional diagnostics and notifications are separate features that you can manage in Settings.
2. What stays on your device
QR codes, barcode contents, camera input used for scanning, and selected images are processed on your phone. Code contents are not uploaded to the app team for scanning or creation.
- Scanned and created codes: your local results can contain text, links, contact details, Wi-Fi credentials, location details, or other information you choose to scan or enter.
- History and favorites: these are stored on your phone when history is enabled. Turning history off prevents new entries; it does not automatically remove existing entries.
- Sharing and export: if you share a code, save an image, or export a CSV, you control the destination. Those files and the receiving services are then subject to your choices and the destination’s own practices.
Local storage is not a cloud backup. Keep a copy of any exported information you need, and protect your phone and exported files.
3. Permissions and why they matter
The app uses device capabilities to perform the actions you request. Available permissions and prompts can vary by Android version.
| Capability | Purpose | Your control |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Read QR codes and barcodes. | Allow or revoke access in system settings. |
| Photos or image picker | Read a selected image or save a created code. | Select what to share and manage any requested access. |
| Notifications | Receive optional app notifications. | Manage the app’s preference and system notification permission. |
| External app actions | Open a browser, contact, call, message, email, map, or payment link. | Review the result and the destination before acting. |
Declining a permission may limit the related feature. Opening another app or service can disclose information to that destination under its own privacy policy.
4. Optional usage, crash, and notification data
In Settings → Privacy & Data, you can choose whether to share usage statistics and crash reports and whether to receive notifications. The app’s privacy controls identify Google Firebase as a service provider for these optional functions.
Depending on the enabled service, technical data can include app and device information, usage events, crash details, installation identifiers, or notification tokens. These are separate from the contents of the codes you scan or create. Technical identifiers mean diagnostic information should not be assumed to be completely anonymous.
Provider processing and retention depend on the service and its configuration. See Google Firebase’s privacy and security information. Contact the app team for questions about the current configuration.
5. Your choices and local data
- Use Settings → Privacy & Data to manage optional usage statistics, crash reports, and notifications.
- Use Save History to control whether new scans and created codes are added to your local history.
- Manage camera, photos, and notification permissions in your phone’s system settings.
- Use Android’s app storage controls to clear local app data if you want to reset the app. This can remove saved codes and preferences; preserve anything you need first.
- Delete any exported CSV files, saved images, or copies you no longer want from their respective locations.
Turning off an optional service does not necessarily erase information already processed by its provider. Contact us with a privacy request so we can explain what is applicable. We cannot remotely retrieve or restore the scan history stored only on your phone.
6. This website and support email
This website includes no advertising pixels, third-party analytics scripts, or tracking cookies. It stores only your selected light or dark appearance in browser local storage when you choose a theme. You can clear that preference through your browser’s site-data controls.
Your hosting provider may process routine request information, such as an IP address, browser information, and the requested page, to deliver and protect the website.
The contact form does not submit information to a website server. It prepares an email draft in your own email application. If you send that email, your email address, message, and any attachments become available to the support team and the email services involved. We use support correspondence to respond and investigate the request. Please avoid including private code contents or unnecessary personal information.
For questions about support correspondence, access, or deletion, write to support@appsbean.com.
7. Security and retention
On-device processing reduces the need to transmit code contents. No storage system or communication method can be guaranteed completely secure. Use your phone’s security features, keep your software current, and review the contents of any file before sharing it.
Local app data remains subject to your device’s storage and backup settings until removed. Exported files remain wherever you save them until you delete them. Information processed for optional services or support is subject to the applicable service configuration and operational needs. Contact us if you need details about a particular record or service.
8. Children and personal information
The app does not require an account or ask for a birth date. Children should use scanning, external links, and sharing features with appropriate guidance. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the support team, contact us so the concern can be reviewed.
9. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when app features or data practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be explained through an appropriate app or website notice.
